A Monster is Born is the fourth episode of the Blood of Zeus series.
Synopsis[]
Heron is taken captive by the army of Seraphim, who chases Alexia but instead encounters Hera. The goddess informs the Demon leader of his true past.
Summary[]
Alexia emerges from hiding and sees all the dead people. Elias, who holds Electra, tells her that the man she is looking for was taken captive, and she leaves. Hermes comes to his father Zeus and tells him that the more the people suffer, the easier they move to the next life. Hermes then takes Electra's soul to the River of Styx. As he blows the horn to call the Ferryman Charon, Wraiths who can't cross over appear, but Charon chases them away. He pays Charon and tells him to treat her well, or thunder will fall upon him. Hermes asks Electra if there is someone she wants to see before she crosses over, and she states it's Heron. She appears before Heron, telling him that there are fates worse than death, and bids farewell. Heron wakes in a caravan with other prisoners. He wonders where Seraphim is, but a man named Evios tells him that the last he heard is that he was after Alexia.
Meanwhile, Seraphim finally corners Alexia in a cave behind a waterfall. However, Alexia then turns into Hera and orders him to kneel. She tells him that she wants revenge like him and he can kill as many nobles as he wants, but that will not bring him peace. She reveals that he was the firstborn son of a mighty king and that his mother was not even his real mother. Hera then shows Seraphim that his father was killed and that his uncle Acrisius decided to get rid of him to take the throne for himself. However, a loyal servant Ariana saw that Seraphim was still alive and decided to protect him. She took him and ran away. Then, she decided to hide in a cave where a bear with its cubs came.
As Ariana asked the gods for help, Hera helped and made the bear share her milk. She raises him with the bears, but one day, Ariana's sister tells Acrisius about Seraphim being alive, and Ariana and Acrisius' sons find them. They killed Ariana and the bears, but the mother bear saved Seraphim. He ended up taking refuge on the shores of Melidoni, where, as he grew, he eventually found and killed the man who killed Ariana in an alleyway.
As the guards chase him, he ends up in a cave where he finds a Giant's' body. Seeing a spear in it, he goes to take it, but then hears the Giant's voice telling him to eat his flesh to save himself. He starts to transform into a Demon and kills twelve of the guards, while three others swear loyalty and surrender. Hera tells Seraphim that it is Zeus' fault and that he should have been a king. Seraphim wonders why she wants to turn him against Zeus, but Hera does not want to answer and instead reveals that he had killed his own mother, Electra, and if he seeks true vengeance, he must set sight on Zeus.
