Hades' Bident is a long weapon belonging to Hades, the Greek God of the underworld.

History

The god Hades possessed the weapon during the Gigantomachy. He lost it after using it to fatally pierce the back of a Giant. Years later, the leader of the demons Seraphim infiltrated the cave where this Giant washed ashore and claimed the weapon for himself.

Throughout the Series

Seraphim used it throughout the series until he was pierced by it when Heron allowed it to pierce his body. Hades later reclaims it in the Underworld, where he compliments Seraphim on his usage of it.

Capabilities

Hades' Bident is a two-pronged implement resembling a pitchfork. It has proven to be an incredibly potent tool, capable of easily tearing humans in half. It was even able to harm the goddess Hera, cutting her hand off. Due to the Giant's blood that stained its groove, Seraphim gained the ability to mentally manipulate its movements after consuming the Giant's flesh and becoming a Demon.

The Bident allows Hades to cross and manipulate the barriers between worlds. In Season 3, it is revealed that without the Bident, it is impossible to leave the Underworld. When Cronus takes it, Hades and Zeus find themselves trapped, unable to return to the world of the living without the weapon. This power underscores the Bident's importance as a key between the realms.

• A bident is a two-pronged implement resembling a pitchfork. In classical mythology, the Bident is a weapon associated with Hades (Pluto), the ruler of the Underworld. Likewise, the three-pronged trident is the implement of his brother Poseidon (Neptune), god of the seas and earthquakes, and the lightning bolt, which superficially looks as if it has one prong, is a symbol of Zeus.
