The Raid is the third episode of the Blood of Zeus series.
Synopsis[]
The goddess Hera discovers the existence of Zeus's bastard son, Heron, and vows revenge. The polis falls to the forces of the malevolent Seraphim.
Summary[]
In an arena, Ares faces Apollo and Hermes. He breaks Apollo's chariot and manages to catch the speeding Hermes. But then Zeus arrives angry and asks Ares what he had told Hera as only he knew where he was; however, Hera also arrives, stating she had already known.
Hera and Zeus end in an argument, with Hera angry that he was always slipping away to see Electra and others. She wonders if he ever loved her, and Zeus confirms, but Hera realizes he also loves Electra. Angry, she states she will kill her and her son, and he will not be able to stop her, but Zeus is against it and reiterates to her that while she was the queen of the heavens, it is important to point out that it being no longer the case is what matters. Hera tells him that the others are mocking him when he goes to fool around on Earth, and she is the reason he is still on the throne. Zeus warns her not to do anything. However, Hera states he made a fool of her for the last time. As Hera leaves, Hermes arrives and informs Zeus that Heron's town, Polis, is under attack, and Zeus tells him to clear the cloud cover.
Meanwhile, Heron and Alexia fight a Cerberus and manage to kill one of the heads. As the Demons come, they run towards the town. Heron tells them they can escape using the mines and heads to look for his mother. Hermes had cleared the clouds, and Zeus observed. The Demon leader sees Heron and throws a bident. However, Zeus speaks to Heron and warns him to stop, avoiding the bident. Zeus tells Heron to run, but Heron starts shooting arrows at the Demon. As he is about to be killed again, Zeus helps him; Heron listens and runs this time.
Seeing the people running towards the mines, the Demon leader blocks the path and faces the humans. He introduces himself as Seraphim, the leader of the Melidoni. Seraphim explains he is looking for Alexia and wants to speak with a noble, promising he will consider sparing their families and land. Hearing that, Aratus Theogonis comes out, and Seraphim recognizes he is the son of Epizelos, cousins with King Acrisius. Aratus is surprised he knows him, and Seraphim confirms, stating that he also caused the injury in his left eye and that nothing brings him more joy than seeing nobles die. A Demon tracker returns, stating that they picked Alexia's scent, and Seraphim then kills Aratus as he doesn't need him anymore.
The Demons are about to catch Alexia, and Zeus meddles, causing roses to grow and hide her. Seeing he interferes, Hera decides to do so as well and sends Alexia's cape towards Electra, making the Demons go after her. Zeus prepares to attack; however, Hera, bringing other gods with her, tells him not to as her life is in the hands of the Fates. She tells him there is a need for the law. Otherwise, there will be chaos. Zeus accepts the chaos; however, Poseidon stops him, telling him that she is right and Zeus had said that anyone breaking the law will be punished by death.
Seraphim finds Electra and asks her where Alexia is; however, Electra explains she does not know. Heron sees the Demons that have surrounded his mother and rushes in but is easily beaten by Seraphim. Seeing the hatred in Heron's eyes, Seraphim tells him he has nothing left and will either join them or die. He then kills Electra and takes Heron.
